Zayani's dance career launched when she began studying dance at the University of Kansas where she earned two internships with Avlin Ailey's Ailey Camp. Her dance credits include Cinderella, West Side Story, The Nutcracker, Ethos Dance Company, and La Danse Elite Dance Company. Zayani was also a featured dancer at Kansas City's "18th & Vine Celebration and Reunion" and "Duke Ellington's 100th Birthday Celebration". Zayani has earned two Top Teacher awards and several Best Choreography awards for modern and jazz at regional and national dance competitions. She has worked with several dance companies, including Unity North Dance, Divinity Dance Ensemble, and Wilson Center of Performing Arts. Her choreography credits include the Teach For America Summer Institute Closing Ceremony and a Houston Rockets Pre-Game Show. After moving to Atlanta, Zayani joined The Georgia Ballet. She redeveloped and served as instructor for Momentum, the Georgia Ballet's outreach program that gives underprivileged children the opportunity to learn the basics of dance training. In addition to teaching at the Georgia Ballet School, Zayani was the Production Coordinator. She managed the costume shop, prop shop, and oversaw a team of seamstresses, backstage crew, and volunteers. Zayani joined the teaching staff of Steppin Out Performing Arts Center in 2010, and in 2011 she became a member of the award winning Steppin Out Adult Competition Team. Zayani has taught dance since 1994 and plans to continue sharing her passion for dance for many years to come.
